KynoPlan works offline. Your training data lives on your device; there is no user account and no cloud sync. That makes section 9, on backups, more important than it usually is.
Adding a dog
Everything in KynoPlan hangs off a dog — tracks, diary, appointments, evaluations. So the dog comes first.
- Open the Dogs tab and tap .
- Enter the name. It is the only required field — without one the dog cannot be saved.
- Optionally add the breed (free text with a suggestion list), the date of birth — with the this date is an estimate tick if you don't know it exactly — the sex (male / female) and notes.
- Save.
Papers and documents come after the first save. The Papers block (chip or tattoo number, studbook or registration number, scorebook) and the Documents block only appear in the editor once the dog exists. Reopen the dog afterwards via → Edit to fill them in.
The avatar is not set in the editor but on the dog's profile screen: tap the picture, then take a photo, choose one from the gallery, or pick one of the built-in illustrated avatars.
If you enter a date of birth, KynoPlan creates a yearly Birthday appointment for you.
The profile has three tabs — Profile, Tracks, Statistics — and the profile itself has six cards: Papers, Documents, Diary, Goals, Appointments, Notes. The cards are doorways: tapping one takes you to where that content is actually edited.
A note is not a diary entry. A note is a standing fact — afraid of thunder, switched food — that stays true until you change it; a diary entry is dated and belongs to one session.
The home screen
Home shows today's training items, recent tracks and upcoming appointments. Two large tiles sit in the middle:
- Lay Track — start a new recording. If you have several dogs you'll be asked which one.
- Search Track — let your dog work a track you laid earlier.
Top right: Calendar, QR scanner (import a shared track or design) and More (import tracks from files, open Settings).
Help inside the app
About twenty screens carry a icon in the top bar. It opens an explanation of that exact screen — more detailed than this page, and always matching your installed version. Under Settings → Tips & Help you can additionally switch the short coachmark tips on or off, and Reset all tips re-arms the ones you have dismissed. The ? icon works regardless of that toggle.
