The diary belongs to one dog and has two tabs: Entries — what you did — and Goals — what you want to train next. You reach it from the Diary card on the dog's profile.
Entries
You add a new entry with . It can hold five things:
- a free-text note,
- tags in one comma-separated field,
- a thumbs rating — Good, OK, Tough; tapping the chosen one again clears it,
- a sketch,
- a photo from the camera or the gallery.
It saves as soon as there is a note, a sketch or a photo — a tag or a rating on its own is not enough. The date is set when the entry is created and cannot be changed afterwards. Entries list newest first, and the chips filter by tag. There is no free-text search in the diary.
Goals
A goal is text plus an optional target date, a sketch and a done tick. Drag one by its handle to reorder — open and done goals stay in their own groups. Convert to entry turns a goal into a diary entry, carrying the text and sketch across; the goal itself then disappears. Goals with a target date show up on the home screen under Today and Upcoming.
The point of it: a goal says what you mean to train, an entry records what you did. Once you have actually worked a goal in a session, converting is the short way from one to the other — you don't retype the entry, and the goal list stays limited to what is still open. Two things to know: it does not ask first, and the target date does not travel with it. If you want to keep the goal because you are still working on it, write the entry by hand instead.
Sketches and photos
The sketch editor gives you a pen with colour and thickness, an eraser, ground bands painted behind the ink, a choice of background colour, and stamps from six categories: terrain, track, obstacles, dog, directions, markers. Placed stamps can be dragged. The canvas is unlimited — pinch to zoom, drag with two fingers to pan, and it auto-fits your drawing when you reopen it.
Sharing goals with another device
Use a goal's ⋮ menu to share a single one, or Share goals… in the Goals tab's overflow to pick several at once. You can send them as a QR code or as a file (.dtgoal). The recipient is asked which dog the goals should join. Sketches travel along, unless the QR code would be too large for them.
Diary entries themselves cannot be shared — only goals.
